Aao Wish Karein Movie - Reviews

If you don't believe in fairy tales, you can't become a part of this movie. An overwhelming wish by a boy to grow up so that he can be with a beautiful but older girl in his town-this is what the film is all about. Seems like a cute and light weight plot, and actually it is. You have to be a kid while watching it otherwise you won't enjoy it. A kid starts loving a grown up girl is not what we can't believe because we've all had our own crush on some grown up guy or girl while we were young and it's nice to see a kid's dream being fulfilled in this movie, although not ours.

A young kid called Mickey is fond of a grown up girl called Mitika (Aamna Shariff) and loves her a lot but the only problem is he's too young for her. So the only solution is to grow up instantly and it is also the solution for his other family problems. So one day he makes a wish and Mickey grows up. But the only problem is, although he has the body of a grown up guy, he still has the mind of a 12 year old kid. But this problem turns to his advantage as Mitika likes his kiddish behaviour. Love happens and by that time he solves everyone's problems too. Now it's time for their marriage and also the time for "guy" Mickey to come down to "kid" Mickey. And the climax is now all about how the fairy tale comes to his rescue.

Aftab as a producer did a superb job, strategically. He chose a genre which makes a decent profit although the movie is not that good. Movies like this attracts kids and therefore parents. So what happens is atleast three seats are sold behind a head. And now as a writer he did a good job as we can't expect a Harry Potter from him. And as an actor, the script suited him well and it's good that it did as it is his last chance of survival in the industry. Aamna looked like a queen and as she walked past Mickey many times. Other than her walk through she has an emotional sequence which you will not appreciate much as this is not what you came to watch. And Mr. Johnny Lever, who played the character of Hitchcock, is the one who explains the fairy part of the story.

The most important part and what people will like about the script is its simplicity. And in this kind of simple script one can't judge an actor, so Miss Aamna has yet to prove herself and also there is nothing to direct, so Baretto also has a lot to prove. There were no unnecessary scenes or unused characters, so everyone got their deserved screen time. What is lost in this movie is a bit of comic dose as this is what Aftab does best. Otherwise it is a well-cooked movie.

A watch for kids and their moms too. If you want to enjoy, please don't expect too much. Grown up guys it's definitely not your cup of tea!
